About Me

I have worked in the field of Social Services since 2010. I received my Bachelors in Human Services in 2012 from Western Washington University, and began my work as a Case Manager, working several years alongside individuals, families, children, and teens experiencing hardship and homelessness. In 2015 I started my Masters in Counseling

Psychology at Bastyr University. My education and experience while attending Bastyr included clinical training at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health, and a twelve month practicum at Catholic Community Services - Children’s Mental Health clinic. I have worked within group practice settings, as well as running my own private practice, (previously named Island Roots Counseling) since 2018. My “specialty” areas have been working with teens, young adults, and the LGBTQIA+ community for many years. After additional trainings and further education, I am working toward becoming more specialized in couples therapy as well.

Outside of Therapy

When I am not sitting with clients, I enjoy a variety of hobbies and interests - taking photos, exercising (in many ways), riding horses, studying psychology and astrology, reading, collecting cool rocks, thrifting, and spending time with my partner, two children, and our pets (4 chickens, 2 goats, one dog and one cat, so far...)

How We Work Together

Research shows that the connection built between therapist and client is more vital to healing than any specific counseling technique. I believe your journey deserves a soft, safe, and open space where you can truly be yourself without fear of judgment. Using a gentle, trauma-informed, feminist approach, I am here to support you at your own pace. Whether you are a teenager discovering who you are, an adult moving through life's challenges, or a couple working toward rebuilding intimacy, I will be a steady support for you. My focus is on providing inclusive care that helps you feel heard, grounded, and more like your authentic self.
